A hundred different beers from forty brewers, including six local breweries, will head the 3rd Annual Santa Cruz Hop N’ Barley Beer & BBQ Festival at SkyPark, Scotts Valley on June 30th. Don’t be confused. This is the local beer festival that benefits the Community Housing Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, Inc., a local non-profit. Doors open at 12:00 Tasting will begin at 12:30 and flow till 4:30 with local music continuing till 5:00.
New this year is the Peoples Choice Awards for the favorite brewer of the festival. In addition, top BBQers will be competing for the best BBQ.
Enjoy the event with a donation of $30 in advance/$35 at the door for beer tasting (includes signature glass) and $8 for BBQ tasting. Tickets are available at www.hopnbarley.org
This sell-out event will feature 40 brewers and over 100 different beers, including six local brewers and some very special micro-brews. The six local brewers are: Boulder Creek Brewery, Santa Cruz Ale Works, Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, Seabright Brewing, Uncommon Brewing and Corralitos Brewing. Enthusiastic home brewers will enjoy brewing demonstrations and supplies will be available.
Sky Park boasts a very large kids area, a skate park and is also dog friendly.
This event benefits the Community Housing Land Trust of Santa Cruz County, Inc.
The CHLTSCC has operated in Santa Cruz County since 1999 and used the Hop N’ Barley Beer & BBQ Festival for fundraising since it began in 2010. Donations will be directed to creating a transitional housing/life skills center, On Higher Ground. The project is dedicated to providing safe, secure, family-style, structured lodging, life skills building, case management, counseling, training, job placement, referral and advocacy.
